Sporthaven Beach

Sporthaven Beach is one of the most popular beaches in the Brookings Harbor area. Access to the beach is directly off of Boat Basin Road in Harbor and the access road travels directly in front of the Beach Front RV park.

The RV park is owned and operated by the Port of Brookings-Harbor and front row RV’ers are afforded a direct and close view of the beach and ocean.  The Port maintains webcams of the beach, click here

There is a nice sidewalk between the road and beach and in the summer months, ramps are installed for easy access to the beach it’s self. Beach goers can be found year around, walking their dogs, taking a stroll or looking for interesting things washed up by the surf.

It is common, in the summer months, to find groups of people sitting around a driftwood fire, relaxing in their beach chairs or playing in the surf.

The 4th of July brings a party atmosphere to Sporthaven beach as the local fireworks display is launched from the south end of the beach.

Winter can find giant waves pounding the beach and a few times the front row RV’ers have had to be evacuated as big surf tossed driftwood, sand and rocks up onto the road.
